あー、これはよく使う言葉だよ！
もともとは「とても細かくて、深い意味がある」っていう意味なんだけど、今の日本語では少し違う使い方のほうが多いかな。
今はよく「なんか…いいとも悪いとも言えない」「ちょっと変な感じ」っていうときに使うんだよね。たとえば、友達に「この料理どう？」って聞いたとき、正直おいしくなかったけど、はっきり言いたくないとき、「うーん、微妙…」って言う感じ。やさしい断り方にもなるよ。
他にも、「彼との関係、最近ちょっと微妙なんだよね」って言ったら、「なんかうまくいってない、でもはっきりはわからない」みたいなニュアンスになる。
